Missing Samantha Humphrey Found Dead in Mohawk River

Samantha Humphrey was last seen on November 25, 2022, at Riverside Park in Schenectady’s Stockade neighborhood when she failed to come home after meeting up with her boyfriend, according to a GoFundMe page put up by her mother, Jaclyn Humphrey.

The body of Humprey was found by police on February 22 in the Mohawk River, according to a press release from the Schenectady Police Department.

According to the GoFundMe page, the coat she was meant to be wearing was discovered in the river not long after her mother reported her missing and it had what appeared to be blood on the hood. According to WYNT, a local fisherman found her bones three months later.

Humphrey’s family gave a message to CBS.

According to The Daily Gazette, Humphrey attended Schenectady High School and was a ninth-grader.

Humphrey, who was born in Metairie, Louisiana, “lost a short but fierce fight with evil itself, and passed into infinity,” according to her obituary.

Before disclosing any additional information regarding the case, the Schenectady Police Department stated that it is awaiting the findings of the autopsy.
